Starting a high school anime club, was wondering how to convince the prinicipal that anime is educational?

I’m a freshman wanting to start an anime club, I’ve got support from 5-6 juniors, planning the officers, a minimum of 10 people guaranteed, with 20 potential that I know of. Anime is educational, but I can’t seem to convince the principal and vice principal that having an anime club is a good idea and would expand our cultural horizons…any suggestions?
